March 7th and 8th – Seattle Kennel Club Educational Booth. Educational booth of the GSDCWS. Meet the German Shepherd Dog with members’ shepherds, puppies, and adults. Learn all about the breed from members, trainers, judges, and handlers. Everything you need to know, you may asked one of our members.
•April – All Breed Obedience run thru's for Novice, Open and Utility. We are set up in a park and offer a show setting with rings and AKC approved jumps.
•May 9th and 10th, 2009 - AKC All Breed Obedience and Rally Trial. Our show is quite popular because we offer nice Rosettes for placements and qualifying scores instead of just the flat ribbons. We also have nice trophies and an awesome raffle! There is easy access to parking and set up.
•June - AKC Herding Trial at Brigands Hideout in Vancouver, Washington. This trial offers herding tests and other courses. Again we offer Rosettes for placements and qualifying scores. This trial is open to all Breeds eligible under Chapter 1, Section 3 of the AKC Herding Regulations.
•July - Temperament test held through the German Shepherd Dog Club of America. This event is held at Carco Park in Renton and is open to all breeds. Passing dogs receive a certificate from the German Shepherd Dog Club of Washington State. German Shepherds who pass also receive a certificate from the GSDCA.
•July – AKC Canine Good Citizen Test open to all breeds at Carco Park in Renton.
•September 12, 2009 - Herding Instinct and Junior Herd Dog tests offered at Ewe-topia in Roy. This is open to all herding breeds. For further information or to see if your breed is eligible please contact Kerry Southern at Vonsudlich@aol.com or 360-893-1622.
