What your kids need
to remember
* Never go up to a strange dog and pet him. . If they are with someone, ask first if it is ok to pet their dog.
*Never look a dog in the eyes. He feels it is a threat and will get scared or angry
*Never scream and run around dogs. This makes the dog think you are prey and he will want to chase you.
*Never tease a dog through a fence. He will remember you and what you did.
*Never bother a dog when he is eating or sleeping. How do you like being woke up or interrupted while you are eating your favorite food.
*Don't hug a strange dog.
*Greet the dog with the back of your hand to get acquainted.
*If a strange dog comes up to you, hold still and don't look him in the eyes.       He will get bored with you and walk away.
If not put something like your backpack or jacket in between you and the dog.
*Leave a mother dog alone with her pups. Your mother protects you from harm, so does mother dogs.
