Amanda Hackbarth's Fritz and Greta recieved a first place at Ewe-topia's annual Halloween costume contest. Amanda was a haunted house while Fritz and Greta were ghosts. Fritz also won the best trick contest with the trick he did at the April meeting. Retrieving a tissue from a tissue box. Our prizes were two nice gift baskets filled with dog toys and free herding lessons.

Helen Word's Fircrest Lucky for Life "Lucky" started out in All Breed shows on August 29, 2009. In 4 weeks he's acquired a 3 point major and a major reserve in Oregon - Best of Breed and Group 2 in Wenatchee - other wins have put him half way there.
Jim and Gail Wells are happy to say that Fircrest Destiny's Tyr of Echowind "Tyr" had a great deal of fun and earned his HCT title on September 19th at the GSDCWS Herding Instinct Tests at Ewe-topia.
Gail Wells' "EZ" - Fircrest EZ Duz It of Echowind earned another point by going WB and BOS at the Gig Harbor Kennel Club Show on September 19th under Linda Riedel. "EZ" is co-owned by Helen Word.
Juanita Williamson's '007' (Pierce):Pierce went WD and BOW for a major at Enumclaw dog show on Aug. 16, 2009. :Pierce picked up another pt going WD and BOW at Sammamish KC on Aug. 23, 2009.

Fritz earned his Therapy Dogs International "Remarkable Volunteer Achievement" (TDIRVA) working certificate/title for submitting over 250 visits.
Amanda Hackbarth's Int. Ch Greta Von Rainier TC, CGC, JHD, PT, HSAs, AKC/ASCA CD, CDX, TDIA, Greta earned her Therapy Dogs International working certificate/title for logging over 50 visits. Her new title is Therapy Dogs International Active Volunteer (TDIA). Greta visits the VA nursing home and with wounded soldiers at the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Lewis.
Ashley Hilsman's"Kaiser", Zander von Schraderhaus qualified in Open today, taking third in his class and finishing his CDX! What a great wedding present from my best bud!
Helen Word is thrilled to say that "JD" finished with a bang on the 4th of July going WD, BOW, BOB and 3rd in the Herding Group. He is now Ch. Fircrest Heart of Gold Sunrise, TC, HCT, OFA H & E.
Gail J. Wells and Helen Word are proud to say that Fircrest EZ Duz It of Echowind HCT gets to add a TC to her name. Gail and EZ went through the GSDCWS Temperament Test on July 18th, 2009 and received a score of 27 out of 33.
Fircrest EZ Duz It Of Echowind "EZ" went WB and BOS on July 25th at the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club show for another point. She followed that up by going RWB on July 26th.
Helen Word's Fircrest Heart of Gold Sunrise "J.D." went back to back WD, BOW and BOB at the Puyallup shows on June 6th and 7th, 2009. At the same shows his two half sisters added to their point totals. On June 6th Fircrest Sweet Jasmine Lenlor "Jasmine" owned by Lorry Bellah and James Hamasaki went WB and BOS and on June 7th Fircrest EZ Duz It of Echowind "EZ" owned by Gail Wells and Helen Word went WB and BOS. At the Mid Pacific Maturity on May 30th Fircrest EZ Come EZ Go, a half brother to J.D., owned by Ben and Debbie Rivers went 2nd in the Junior Maturity Dog Class and on June 13th "J.D.'s" son Fircrest Destiny's Tyr of Echowind "Tyr", owned by Jim and Gail Wells took 4th in the Futurity Junior Dog class owner handled!!
Amy V Ross' Annabelle From Walking Arrow, TC HIC HCT CGC TDI passed her Therapy Dog International test June 6 with evaluator Chris Cornell.
Haney - Ray J’s has taken the ring by storm, Our Girl, Haney’s Mystical Dreams, HC… first headed to Canada, she finished her Canadian Championship, by going WB, BOS over a very nice Special, Best Bred by Exhibitor in Breed onto a BBE Group 1, then went to Lewiston and Went winners Bitch BOW in all 4 shows, then went Olympia DFA, where she went Winners Bitch, BOW and to then went to Spokane/Coeur D’Alene shows going Winners Bitch BOW the 1st show, Winners Bitch the 2nd Show, Winners Bitch, BOW in the 3rd & 4th shows . Her Litter Brother, UKC CH. Haney’s The Power Of Dreams, HC …went to Canada going Winners Dog, BOW in the 1st show, Winners Dog, BOS in the 2nd show and Winners Dog in the 3rd show, the he also went to the Spokane/Coeur D’Alene shows going Winners dog , BOS the 1st show, Winners dog, BOW & BOS the 2nd Show, Winners dog , BOS in the 3rd & 4th shows.
Amanda and Fritz had a feature story in the Army's Mercury newspaper. The story explained how beneficial therapy dog visists are to wounded soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and to just bring a little happiness in a soldiers day. The Mercury is a "world-wide" publication for members of the Army Medical Department.
Amanda Hackbarth's Int CH Greta Von Rainier TC, CGC, ASCA/AKC CD, JHD, PT, CDX, HSAs, TDI received a qualifying score for her ASCA Started Sheep run. Greta was handled by Amanda. At the Fun Trial at Ewe-topia on May 3, 2009.
Amanda Hackbarth's UKC CH Fritz Von Hackbarth TC. CGC, CDX, JHD, PT, STDd, TDIAOV received a first place for his ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America) Open Duck run at Ewe-topia's annual fun trial. Fritz was handled by Joe Kapelos and competed with three other breeds on May 3, 2009.
